About the job

The SAS Cloud team is looking for a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to provide a premium service for our customers that includes support for infrastructure through the delivery of any SAS solution. Our team presents a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with customers, analysts, developers, and implementation team members to deliver world class SAS service.

As a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer, you will:  

• Deliver excellent customer service using a customer first and continuous improvement mindset.
• Provide hands-on administration, maintenance, and installation of SAS Enterprise software and solutions.
• Use IT Service Management best practices for change, incident, and problem management to meet and support Service Level Agreement requirements SAS Cloud customers.
• Create and maintain service documentation including runbooks, knowledge base articles, and wiki content.
• Manage, monitor, and maintain container-based applications deployed in cloud container services.
• Develop tools and software to manage SAS and third-party software.
• Diagnose, document, report, and resolve system problems.
• Participate in on-call rotation (paid).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 8 years of technical experience including:
  • 1 years of experience Enterprise Platform Support
  • 2 years of experience in systems support, user support, customer support, consulting, or training for enterprise class software and/or hardware.
  • 2 years of experience with Linux or Unix supporting enterprise class applications
• Experience with Python, Ansible, Java, Ruby, or similar
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles
• Experience configuring and managing databases such as MySQL, MongoDB
