Lead Software Engineer, DevOps (Remote-Eligible)

This role would support our greater Cloud Productivity Engineering line of business, which provides foundational infrastructure services and shapes the future of Capital One with support of strategic objectives - like becoming cloud native through cloud safety and smart cost management, or by looking into what we do well and how we can commercialize it. CPE also focuses on shaping the developer experience, staying well-managed with our products and portfolios, and creating access experiences that enable associates to deliver on Capital One’s mission.
What You’ll Do:
Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Ruby and Go, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 6 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 3 years of experience in Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
Preferred Qualifications:
7 years of DevOps Engineering experience
4 years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Golang, Bash, Perl, Groovy, or Ruby)
4 years of experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
4 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Docker)
2 years of experience working within Agile Development Practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City
- $190,950 and $225,278 for Lead Software Engineer
Location is Colorado
- $161,847 and $190,943 for Lead Software Engineer
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
